
Maria Helena Espinosa
María Helena is a highly skilled nurse specialist in dialysis with extensive experience working in the hospital network of Ottawa within the Canadian healthcare system. Currently serving as the Social Development Sector Consulting Initiatives Coordinator at MSEG,
María is deeply committed to improving healthcare access, conducting community analyses, and developing interventions that reorient health and social services. Her expertise also includes designing care plans, promoting health, and analyzing social determinants of health to create equitable and impactful solutions.
María holds a nursing degree from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and has a strong foundation in several clinical and community-based healthcare post graduated training. Her years of practice in dialysis and patient care have honed her ability to address complex health challenges with compassion and technical expertise.
In addition to her professional role, María has been an integral part of MSEG’s leadership as a member of its Advisory Board since the organization's founding in 2011. Her insights and contributions have been instrumental in shaping MSEG’s mission and strategies, particularly in addressing health equity and supporting vulnerable communities.
María’s dedication to fostering sustainable community health initiatives and her extensive background in both clinical and social health make her an invaluable asset to MSEG and the broader health sector.
